MILO MVP Program

I was recently asked to be a part of the MILO Valuable Players is a national search for kids aged 6 to 12 that display the values of fair play and good sportsmanship. As a proud sporting nation, generations of Aussie kids have grown up having fun on the sport fields, but it’s also through sport kids learn values like teamwork, leadership, and the importance of self-belief and positivity. Together we can let kids know they are held in the highest regard. MILO Valuable Players is proudly supported by Aussie sporting heroes, and...

Skechers Silent Disco

My kids, Olivia, Jack and I were recently part of a store opening for Skechers at Garden City in Brisbane. Skechers launched the store with a “Silent Disco”. Now I’d never heard of a silent disco but when they invited Liv and Jack to come, I knew it would be anything but “Silent”. The concept is, you put wireless headphones on and dance to the song playing, you can choose from two songs. Olivia requested Katy Perry and after coming to terms with the...

Febrile Convulsions

Have you ever heard of them? I know I haven’t and neither had my family until Grand final week this year. Jonathan and I were in Melbourne for the week, it was the Thursday morning and while I was shopping in the city I got a phone call no parent want’s to get. It was my dad on the other end, he and my mum were looking after Jack at our home. Dad started with “the ambulance is here, Jack has had a little seizure.” My heart dropped, I had clothes in my hand and I don;t even know who I handed them to, I think it was just...

“So, are you pregnant yet??”

These 5 words should never be used in the same sentence!! For someone who has fallen pregnant by accident or on the first try, you can’t even begin to imagine how hard it actually is to fall pregnant. Also people that haven’t even tried yet. Each cycle a women only has a 15-25% chance of conceiving, but this is only the case if you do everything right. If you or your partner have any medical conditions that decreases the chances significantly. That 15-25% is also only if you ovulate which not everyone does each month and it needs...

Keeping the “Love” alive

Keeping the “Love” alive

I have read so many things about introducing a new baby to your toddler, how your partner can support you during pregnancy, even how to introduce a new baby to your dog but I never see much about bringing a baby into your relationship. Now I am definitely no relationship expert but I do feel when a baby makes 3, 3 can become a crowd. Not to mention 4,5,6 or more. I remember when I was pregnant with Olivia, one of the tradesman working on our house said “Oh your pregnant, congratulations”. “Now I know your going to and...

Round 2

In April 2012 I had 3 nights in a row where I struggled to sleep. I felt really anxious and just weird. By the third night at 3am I all of a sudden thought “OMG I’m pregnant again! . I would’ve been super excited but I was very nervous, only 4 months earlier I had an ectopic pregnancy. (Here is a definition from Wikipedia) An ectopic pregnancy, or eccysis, is a complication of pregnancy in which the embryo implants outside the uterine cavity.[1] With rare exceptions, ectopic pregnancies are not viable. Furthermore, they...

Thank You!!!

Wow!!! I am overwhelmed with the response to my first post and I wanted to thank you all. It breaks my heart to think that in just 3 days I have received so many emails and comments from other women who are, or know someone experiencing PND. I promise, I will eventually get back to each and every one of you but I have to admit, I didn’t think it would take off like it has, sooooo I may take a while but I will get back to you. Olivia is 3 1/2 now, at times I question if PND would affect our relationship but I can assure you it...
