What is the perfect size of a “Real Woman”???

What is the perfect size for a “Real Woman”??? My answer is at whatever size you feel, healthy strong and full of energy. If you have reached puberty and have female anatomy then you are a real woman. We come in all different shapes and sizes and that’s what makes the fashion industry grow. If we all had the same body shape and looked good in the same thing it would be a very boring world. After having my 3 children I am the smallest I have ever been and am constantly asked if I eat or how I lost my baby weight. I’ve...

Children after PND – “Don’t let your past, shape your future.”

I recently received an email asking me how I built up the courage to have another baby after experiencing Post Natal Depression, 5 years ago with my first born Olivia? Was I frightened PND would return? Did I have any freak outs along the way? Did I experience it with my two youngest children? This email and these questions inspired this post. If one person is taking the time to write me an email, I am positive there are others out there having the same dilemma and may not have anymore children out of pure fear that PND will raise it ugly head...

Fashion Critical

I have a 4 almost 5 year old daughter Olivia. Olivia is an energetic, passionate, confident, creative and extremely theatrical little girl and is never afraid to show it. She loves being given the task to dress herself for the day, however sometimes the outfits she puts together are very left of centre and miss matched. Before I tell her to go and get changed, I take note to see the look on her face of how proud she is of what she has created. I always let her stay as is, weather depending of course. Liv, summer dresses in the middle of winter...

My ectopic pregnancy – trust your instincts

In October 2011 I was rushing out the door to go to my friend Hayley’s Hen’s Night. (Jonathan and I had decided we were ready to have another baby, Olivia was 2 and we had just started trying). As I was on my way to a hen’s night that I knew I would have a few drinks and I thought I better do a pregnancy test, just incase. To my surprise it came up positive, I ran downstairs to share my excitement with Jonathan and he was also shocked. We had only just started trying and with my history of endometriosis, we didn’t...

The Good the Bad the UNspoken of Social Media

Social Media, the most effective form of marketing available. What other way can you connect with 100’s, 1000’s or for some, millions of people in a split second and not pay a cent??? There is no way I would’ve started a blog if it wasn’t for social media. For me to notify people that I had a new blog post up by emailing or texting, would take forever and even then I would only be reaching the people I knew. My initial blog post received thousands of hits, ended up on the front page of the Herald Sun and featured in...

Febrile Convulsions

Have you ever heard of them? I know I haven’t and neither had my family until Grand final week this year. Jonathan and I were in Melbourne for the week, it was the Thursday morning and while I was shopping in the city I got a phone call no parent want’s to get. It was my dad on the other end, he and my mum were looking after Jack at our home. Dad started with “the ambulance is here, Jack has had a little seizure.” My heart dropped, I had clothes in my hand and I don;t even know who I handed them to, I think it was just...

“So, are you pregnant yet??”

“So, are you pregnant yet??”

These 5 words should never be used in the same sentence!! For someone who has fallen pregnant by accident or on the first try, you can’t even begin to imagine how hard it actually is to fall pregnant. Also people that haven’t even tried yet. Each cycle a women only has a 15-25% chance of conceiving, but this is only the case if you do everything right. If you or your partner have any medical conditions that decreases the chances significantly. That 15-25% is also only if you ovulate which not everyone does each month and it needs...

Thank You!!!

Wow!!! I am overwhelmed with the response to my first post and I wanted to thank you all. It breaks my heart to think that in just 3 days I have received¬†so many emails and comments from other women who are, or know someone experiencing PND. I promise, I will eventually get back to each and every one of you but I have to admit, I didn’t think it would take off like it has, sooooo I may take a while but I will get back to you. Olivia is 3 1/2 now, at times I question if PND would affect our relationship but I can assure you it...

Postnatal Depression or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder???

First family photo. This was seconds after delivery, not many people have seen this photo. I was hesitant to put it up, I don’t recognise myself and it brings back some painful memories but I want to be open and honest.     I had always dreamt of being a mum, I felt it was my destined career path. I was never really sure of what I wanted to do after I finished school but being a mum was never a question. My pregnancy with Olivia wasn’t great, I had awful morning sickness for the majority of the pregnancy. From the...
